People Are Only Just Discovering Salt Shakers Have Hidden Setting That Changes Everything

Most of us use a salt shaker when cooking, but have you ever considered how the contraption actually works when adding some seasoning to your chips? One TikToker has gone viral after revealing a hidden feature in the humble kitchen staple that’s left many people baffled.

TikTok user @rightguysreview shared a clip of him using a normal everyday salt shaker, and explained that you can actually change the size of the salt granules with one small adjustment.

All you need to do to change the size of the granules is click the end of the shaker in and out and you will see the difference.

In the clip, the man is left asking himself how he only just found this out, gobsmacked that he hadn’t discovered it sooner.

Many have been quick to respond to this revelation but the clip has divided opinion – with some saying they have known about this simple trick for years.

Others had no idea and can’t wait to try it on their own salt shakers.

One person penned: “That’s so amazing.”

Another said: “I”ve never ran so fast to my cupboard to test it out – mind blown!”

Some have been at odds with this revelation, however.

One wrote: “Genuinely thought this was common knowledge.”

While another stated: “I’ve known this for a year”.

And a third pointed out: “It literally has a diagram on the side of the tube to tell you.”

Since posting it, the clip has now received over two million views as people can’t believe how long it has taken them to realise how the salt shaker actually works. They’ve pledged to use the hack the next time they make food.
